As most of you know, I spent most of my life in pursuit of textiles that are either black, or can be dyed black.

So!

Right now, Wal-mart (or mine, at least) has a section of lace and trim that's sort of bridal/spring themed -- lots of pastels and a huge section of solid white/cream. THEY ARE ALL 100% COTTON. (They said they were, but I never trust that, as often that doesn't include the friggin thread.) But I confirmed, just now... cluny, eyelet, they all take dye beautifully. Not super cost-effective if you need a HEAP of lace, but not horrible; I'm going to return to the section and clean it out, later. Beautiful black trim will be mine!

If you're into white lace, you don't even need to do anything.

Also, the Martha Stewart wedding collection has really gorgeous, gorgeous eyelet-themed stuff right now. (Bizarrely enough, the thread on the hankies is 100% cotton, but the fabric itself is cotton-poly, so I ended up with a lavender-grey hanky with black eyelet. Which works, so.) I also love the garters and tissue-lamp-cover-ball thingies.
