FRIVOLITY in the face of FEET
Jul. 14th, 2009 04:01 pmSo I've eyed Fluevogs off and on forever. (Alex, still need to send you those. As soon as I remember where the heck I packed them. The perils of organizing poorly...) They're having a sale, so this time, I called the New York store with my foot width measurements. The kind manager took out a ruler and some string and said, "Honey... I'm going to say no. You can't do it."
And unlike Kelly, I did not curse her out, but instead thanked her for her honesty -- my poor huge feet are resigned to men's shoes in perpetuity.
And looking at my footsies, which have now somehow spectacularly swollen to twice their normal width, I'm feeling somehow at peace with this. Even the women's Crocs don't fit. The good Doctor Marten, however, loves me dearly, and I love him.
... so yeah, considering I'm camped out in my brother's room with my feet up, borrowing his power cord and drinking Mountain Dew. So hey! Now seems like a great time to think about toys, and the upcoming con exclusives.
Well, okay, the upcoming con exclusives are cool and all, but mostly I just want to link you all collectively to HELLBOY TOFFEE. GUYS. IS THIS NOT THE CUTEST THING YOU'VE EVER SEEN?
EVER?
Seriously!
Not sure I'll actually buy her, but geez, it's the creepiest doll plus the most awesome comics universe ROLLED INTO ONE DISTURBING PACKAGE. AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! (I love me some BPRD. Love it. It's just like all the ooky spooky comics I used to love from SLG, only thought-out and actually profitable, which means it continues to be written.)
Hooray hooray~ la la la~
... in other news, you know, my dolly wishlist hasn't really changed since last summer. That one Momoko, I guess, and Dynamite Girl Aria (wave 1) and Spooky Sooki. And the Stitch kitchen Re-ment set, because, um, adorable. Not buying anything until well after the con and all, but. Dolliehs, man. Dolliehs.
