Good! Good that he knows that! And I don't know if this is a Thing That Matters To Him, but most of the Transformers being made today are designed by guys who played with Transformers (and other toys), just like him.
If he continues to walk down the path of Otaku, he will inevitably encounter follow otaku who are convinced that Transformers are Japanese and Hasbro is just "making knockoffs". [Edited to note: That bit was a direct quote. OMG THAT GUY MADE ME SO MAD I am still twitching with rage] These people are wrong and stupid, and should be scorned.
EDIT AGAIN: Sorry, I know it sounds like I'm harping on this. It's weighing on my mind a lot, like a mosquito bite that won't stop itching. Until I can dislodge it from my brain, it's going to keep haunting me.
