It's visually novel, but just... the complete lack of functionality irritates me. It's like those collages people do in front of their stor... oh, heh, you live in Philly, I can think of a few neighborhoods that are examples. ;)
I hold all design styles to this yardstick, though; I like modern because most of it is mindful of people actually using it, and often pairs with accessible/universal design. The modern that runs away with itself -- like, say, a floating staircase with no rail that would kill anyone who tried to use it -- just annoys the crap out of me.
